He also added that, "Marriage and the family are institutions that must be promoted and defended from every possible misrepresentation of their true nature, since whatever is injurious to them is injurious to society itself" and "the family is threatened in many places by a defection of human nature."
In an interview, the most popular defender of gay rights, Lady Gaga had commented against the Pope's statement and said that the gay community should not pay attention to what the pope had said.
She said, "What the pope think of being gay doesn't matter. It doesn't matter to the world. It matters only to those who like and follow the pope."
"And to the gay people out there", she added, "I hope you will have the human right to breed as an entirely equal, valuable and special member of the society."
My point of view:
I believe that nobody, not even the Pope, can judge others for being "incomplete" or "unhappy", etc. just because they don't share same faith or belief. I say it's the pope who is "not a fully developed human" because human development is based on intellect and an intellectual man won't just judge someone because of something as lame as sexual preference.
I refuse to follow a religion who would persecute someone because of their sexual orientation and waives someone's right to happiness just because he is gay. Everybody has the right to be happy, even the Pope has a right to express his thoughts but to say that someone is "not fully developed" just because he is gay is a total bullshit (excuse the expression).
And lastly, I totally disagree that being gay "is a defection of human nature", hindering them from happiness and forcing them to be heteros - that is!
